ROLE: CAD TECHNICIAN / AUTOCAD DESIGNER / DRAUGHTSPERSON

LOCATION:  Based in Matfen, NE20. Situated in their COVID secure offices, you could be searching for Steel AutoCAD jobs in Northumberland, Matfen, Corbridge, Hexham, Newcastle upon Tyne, Prudhoe, Newbrough, Swalwell, Ponteland, Whalton, Otterburn, Gateshead.

SALARY:  £25K- £34K (doe) plus benefits, incentives, free parking, mobile, annual pay review, bonus, pension scheme, ongoing training, 28 days holiday (inc BH).

HOURS:  Mon-Fri, 37.5-hour week

Reporting to the Operations Manager, your primary objective is to design Architectural Metalwork / Building Steelwork fabrications.  Working as part of a close-knit team, providing layout, general arrangement and finalising the detailing of the bespoke designs for Industrial Staircases, Mezzanine Flooring, Fencing, Gates, Substation Infrastructure, and other Building Steelworks, using Autodesk AutoCAD and Inventor.  Your day-day responsibilities will be to:

* Attend site when required as part of the design process to collect technical data.

* Design a wide range of engineering drawings, tender designs, specifications, schedules, and documents.

* Model and create accurate representations of real-life components and equipment for drawing and design purposes.

* Take drawings and designs through the design department release procedure.

* Liaise with procurement, purchasing, factory, project managers, contracts managers, structural engineers, architects, design engineers, fabricators, suppliers and customers.

* Manage and monitor project-based tasks and workload.

As an experienced 3D CAD Designer / CAD Technician / Draughtsperson with relevant qualifications, you should have a solid background in the design and detailing of steel/ metalwork fabrications to current BS / Eurocode standards.  Proficient in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD and a recognised 3D structural steelwork detailing software tool.

Ideally, with a minimum of 7 years draughting experience, as well as an Engineering qualification, you will have a broad understanding of architectural design concepts and theories.  You will have a good attitude, excellent communication skills, be highly organised, confident with data management tools, as well as a good eye for detail.
