ROLE:   AUTOCAD DESIGNER / DRAUGHTSPERSON

LOCATION:  Based at the company’s head office in North London, within easy reach of all major road links and public transport (tube station is 2 minutes from office). You may be looking for Steel AutoCAD jobs in Tottenham, Enfield, Cheshunt, Edmonton, Finchley, Harringay, Barnet, Southgate, Walthamstow, Leyton, North London, Hertford areas.

SALARY:  £25,000 – £32,000 plus benefits and incentives, company bonus scheme, complimentary cakes and drinks, team bonding events, easy access to A10 / North Circular.

HOURS:  Mon-Fri 37.5-hour week.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, your primary objective is to design architectural metalwork fabrications.  Working as part of a close-knit team, providing layout, general arrangement and finalising the detailing of the bespoke designs of staircases, balustrades, gates and other architectural metal works, using AutoCAD software and Autodesk Advanced Steel 3D/2D software tools.  Liaising with procurement, purchasing, factory, and project managers; contracts managers, structural engineers, architects and clients for projects ranging in value from £5K to £1Million, for a range of customers.  Your day-day responsibilities will be:

* Attending site when required as part of the design process.

* Attending training courses as required.

* Office based technical support for existing products.

As an experienced 3D Steelwork CAD Designer / CAD Technician with relevant qualifications, you should have a solid background in the design and detailing of metalwork fabrications to current BS / Eurocode standards, have strong PC skills, including AutoCAD / AutoCAD LT, Excel and Word and a good knowledge of Advance Steel or equivalent 3D structural steelwork detailing software tools, such as Strucad/ Tekla.

You will be highly motivated, intelligent, have excellent organisational, planning skills, be confident with mechanical machining and steel fabrications, able to communicate effectively with clients as well as the ability to work as part of team.
